Rebalance

Jump to: navigation, search

The GMs fucked up a mechanic, an ability that was supposed to be useless is actually super powerful, a Master Assassin is racking up all the points and the apocalypse plot in the 10-day is set to go off after only two days. What's a GM to do? Rebalance.

Rebalances can suck for players, because a mechanic which you thought you understood and doing good at might change under you, or some long term strategic decision you made might suddenly be not so good. In other cases, it might be the case that in fact, there is no imbalance: one player is just doing a particularly good job—nerfing their ability simply penalizes players who are proactive and get shit done early game.

How do you do a fair rebalance?
